Accommodations

• Using the tribes technique have student paired and working with one another, so have a designate buddy in the class for each student. This buddy will provide support to one another when needed. This way the hearing impaired child will not be singled out for having a buddy in class
• Have student seated in the front of the class
• Store and use equipment that makes too much noise away from the student, as this may be frustrating and distracting
• Teachers should use visuals as much possible to support student learning
• Emphasis key message that you would like to be addressed to the student
