Definition

Cerebral Palsy is defined as a term used to describe a group of disorders affecting the body’s movement and muscle co-ordination. The medical definition of cerebral palsy is a non-progressive but not unchanging disorder of movement and/or posture, due to an insult to or irregularity of the developing brain. Brain development begins in the early stages of pregnancy and continues until about age three. During this period any damage to the brain may result in cerebral palsy.
