Children with bipolar are often on medication, this could result in many children being lethargic in the classroom which could affect their behaviour with peers and staff. The as a teacher it is critical to keep this in mind when planning and assessing the student, and sharing this on going observation with parents. Some of the things to observe are the student’s alertness and concentration. They maybe sensitive to sudden noise or lights as this could cause stress and decreases the motivation level. The child’s learning may vary throughout the day, depending on mood and stress level.
