Accommodations

•Create an environment that is harmonious and peaceful, which is not to loud or distracting
•The classroom should be clutter free and organized
•Lighting is appropriate for the classroom, and not to bright to distract student
•Provide student with support one on one or buddy when completing
•Use visual props as often such as stop signs for areas student is not allowed to visit or do certain tasks
•Language extension: Engage in conversations that interest the student and build opportunities for the student to express themselves orally and animated gestures. Through this the teacher can provide and correct language and grammar spoken.
•Discussion: This is where students are encourage to interact with their peers
•Talking circles: This is done in an open ended discussion where feelings are shared and questions are asked. Such as show and tell. Through these types of activities trust and sense of security is built in the classroom
•Story reading: These are providing students to read or story tell stories in their first language and then retold in English
